Chen Clan Ancestral Hall

The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is an academic temple in Guangzhou, China, built by the 72 Chen clans for their juniors' accommodation and preparation for the imperial examinations in 1894 in Qing Dynasty. Located at Zhongshan 7th Road, the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is a symmetric complex consist of 19 buildings with nine halls and six courtyards. Facing south, the complex forms around a north-south axis. A large collection of southern China art pieces, for example, wood carvings and pottery, can be found in the structure. The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall complex exemplifies traditional Chinese architecture and decoration style, and has influenced cultural and architectural developments worldwide. It was added in the list of "Cultural Relics of National Importance under the Protection of the State" in 1988, and it is one of the famous eight attractions in Guangzhou.


Canton Tower

Canton Tower, formally Guangzhou TV Astronomical and Sightseeing Tower, is located at an intersection of Guangzhou New City Central Axes and Pearl River, directly facing Haixinsha Island and the 21st century new city CBD of Guangzhou-Zhujiang New Town. With its unique shape and design, Canton Tower has become a magnificent landmark on the New City Central Axes, adding beauty and charm to the Pearl River. The Canton Tower's main body stands at 450 m (1,476 ft). Combined with the tower's 150-metre-long (492 ft) antenna, the Canton Tower has a total height of 600 m (1,969 ft), making it the second tallest tower in the world. It is not only a comprehensive sightseeing building with rich cultural connotation but also a world-famous tourist spot integrated with the multi-functions of Sightseeing, F&B, Adventure, 4D Cinema, Wedding, MICE, Science and Technology, Education, and Shopping.


Huacheng Square

The square in the new central shaft line of Guangzhou has been officially named as "Huacheng Square". It is regarded as “Guangzhou’s parlor” and is the largest square for civilian purpose in Guangzhou. The Square is surrounded by 39 buildings, including the Guangzhou No.2 Children’s Palace, the Guangzhou Opera House, Guangzhou Library, Guangdong Museum and the West Tower (Guangzhou International Financial Center (GZIFC)), etc. In the Square, there are a man-made lake & landscape district as well as large-scaled fountains, lamplight piazza, system for formation of cold fog and temperature drop, over 600 trees and 5 flower islands. Underneath Huacheng Square is a 150,000 square-meter high-end underground shopping mall, the "Mall of the World".


Whampoa Military Academy

Whampoa Military Academy, which is also known as the Republic of China Military Academy, is the military academy for the army of the Republic of China, founded by Mr. Sun Yat-sen with the support from the Communist Party of China and the Soviet Union. It is the product of the first cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. The military academy produced many prestigious commanders who fought in many of China's conflicts in the 20th century, notably the Northern Expedition, the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Chinese Civil War. It is also one of the four major military schools in the history of the world. The military academy has held seven sessions on Cheung Chau Island. In 1930, it moved to Nanjing and then moved to Chengdu and Taiwan. After the Nationalists retreated from mainland China to Taiwan, the academy was re-established as the Republic of China Military Academy in Fengshan District, Kaohsiung.


Litchi Bay

Lychee Bay is located in Xiguan, Liwan District, Guangzhou. In the past, it usually referred to a large area from Sima Creek to Huangsha. It is a drainage system composed of several creeks, including Xiguan and Liwan Creeks, flowing into the Pearl River. Lychee Bay's history dates back to 2200 years ago. There are many historical relics and historical architectures in Lychee Bay, such as Wenta, Xiguan House, Leung Ancestral Hall, Saikwan Mansion and Renwei Temple. Various cultural activities are held on Lychee Bay, such as the competition of Cantonese opera.


Lingnan Impression

Located in the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Centre, Lingnan Impression Garden embodies the essence of local culture and is home to many traditional Lingnan architectures. The residences were built along waterside, either high with narrow gate or with high walls and wok-ear shape gable. Long lanes, primitive gates, spectacular oyster shell walls, exquisite windows, winding streams and clear ponds are all elements of typical Lingnan water towns. It is a window for people either at home or abroad to learn about the ancient Lingnan culture.


Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum of the Nanyue King

Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum of the Nanyue King houses the 2,000-year-old tomb of the Nanyue King Zhao Mo in Guangzhou, China. Zhao Mo ruled from 137 BC to 122 BC, and his tomb was discovered in downtown Guangzhou in 1983. The mausoleum of Zhao Mo was one of the major archaeological discoveries in China in the 1980s, and it was listed as a key cultural relics site under the state protection in 1996. The museum showcases the tomb and its complete trove of artifacts. Inside the museum, you will also find over 400 pieces of delicately-made ceramic pillows donated by Mr. Yang Yongde and his wife.


Baiyun Mountain

Baiyun Mountain refers to the mountain range located 15 km north of downtown Guangzhou and is made up of about 30 peaks, with an area of 28 square kilometers. Over the course of history, Baiyun Mountain have earned the titles of “Top Beauty of Guangzhou” and “First Mountain of Lingnan”. Its highest peak, Moxing Ridge is 382 m (1,253 ft) high, which is also called the “First Peak under the Southern Sky”. Wander inside the resort, you will find eight scenic spots: Luhu Park, Fei’e Ridge, Santai Ridge, Mingchungu Valley, Kezi Ridge, Monxing Ridge, Mingzhulou Scenic Area, and Heyi Ridge.


Yuexiu Park

Yuexiu Park is the largest park in downtown Guangzhou. Covering an area of 860,000 square meters (212.5 acres), it is made up of three artificial lakes and seven hills of Yuexiu Mountain. Yuexiu Park is one of the eight attractions in Guangzhou since Yuan Dynasty. It is a perfect combination of cultural relics and ecological tourism, reputed for its pretty water and hills as well as cultural relics. The main places of interest include the stone sculpture of the Five Rams, Zhenhai Tower, the site of the Ming Dynasty City Wall, and Square Cannon Site.


Memorial Meseum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen’s Mansion

Located at No.18 Fagnzhi Road, Haizhu District, the Memorial Museum Of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen's Mansion is a national cultural relic protection site based on the original residence of Sun Yet-sen built in 1917. The museum covers an area of 8020 square meters and is comprised by the south and north main buildings. These two main built with granite has gone past over 90 years and witnessed many crucial decisions made by Sun Yet-sen.


Pearl River Night Cruise

At 2,214 kilometers (about 1,376 miles) long, the Pearl River is the third largest river in China and the largest one in Guangzhou. This river is picturesque, adorned by charming views along the river. A cruise along the Pearl River has become a must for visitors to Guangzhou. The night cruise starts from the White Goose Pool and end at either the Guangzhou Bridge in the east or the Baihedong (White Crane Cave) in the south. During the two hour cruise every visitor will be entranced by the beauty of the river and sights such as the White Goose Pool, Zhuhai Square, Aiqun Mansion, the Guangzhou Hotel and the European architecture of Shamian Island buildings.
